UIDAI permits people with Aadhaar cardsto change their address without requiring any documentation. Aadhaar cardholders have the right to alter their address even if they have not provided proof of identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily suspended a crucial service which allows you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address with no certificate of address.

UIDAI lets holders of Aadhaar cards to change their address with no need for any proof of identity. Aadhaar cardholders can change their address only if they accept the authorization for the verification of address. An address verifier can be a relative, friend, landlord or family member that allows the Aadhaar card holder to use their address as proof.

UIDAI is now stopping this facility. UIDAI was notified by an Aadhaar Card user by tweeting the option to update address on Aadhaar Card by submitting an Address Validation Letter was canceled. UIDAI has requested Aadhaar issuers to remind the Aadhaar Issuers to inform users that they can update their address with another legitimate PoA document.

Dear Residents: The addresses Validation Letter service has been discontinued until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
